« Música no Forte é a temporada de concertos a acontecer aos domingos, ao pôr do sol, no Forte de Santa Catarina, nas Lajes do Pico, nos meses de julho e agosto.

O próximo domingo apresenta a estreia açoriana do duo AIÊ. Em Yorubá, AIÊ é o nome que designa o mundo dos vivos. O lado da realidade multissensorial, onde a vida se manifesta pela palpabilidade, onde as ondas sonoras se criam e propagam. É o mundo onde acontecem os encontros físicos. Onde se celebra a presença e a magia do improviso, sob as leis da impermanência da matéria.

Nesta vibração se reuniram Edgar Valente [PT] e Luiz Gabriel Lopes [BR], para uma generosa colaboração multicultural. Dramaticidades complementares, faces distintas de uma mesma fonte, costurada pelos variados sons da lusofonia em sua misteriosa alquimia. A música como portal para o contacto com o espírito, e força maior para a invenção de novos mundos.

Do lado norte do Atlântico, Edgar multiplica-se num corpo que se desdobra em vastas vozes, e se estende aos dedos nas teclas ou às mãos no adufe, num movimento que abrange desde a detonação da nova música popular portuguesa às explosões do funk e do afrobeat. Das margens sul do mesmo oceano, Luiz Gabriel, versátil cantautor brasileiro que traz na voz e nas cordas do violão a rítmica ensolarada dos trópicos, o sincretismo latinoamericano expresso num cancioneiro profundo e balsâmico.

Música no Forte is the concert season that takes place on Sundays, at sunset, at Forte de Santa Catarina, in Lajes do Pico, in July and August.

Next Sunday presents the Azorean debut of the duo AIÊ. In Yoruba, AIÊ is the name that designates the world of the living. The side of multisensory reality, where life is manifested through palpability, where sound waves are created and propagated. It is the world where physical encounters take place. Where the presence and magic of improvisation is celebrated, under the laws of the impermanence of matter.

Edgar Valente [PT] and Luiz Gabriel Lopes [BR] came together in this vibration for a generous multicultural collaboration. Complementary dramaticities, different faces of the same source, stitched together by the varied sounds of lusophony in its mysterious alchemy. Music as a portal to contact with the spirit, and a force majeure for the invention of new worlds.

On the north side of the Atlantic, Edgar multiplies in a body that unfolds in vast voices, and extends to the fingers on the keys or the hands on the adufe, in a movement that ranges from the detonation of new Portuguese popular music to the explosions of funk and afrobeat. From the southern shores of the same ocean, Luiz Gabriel, a versatile Brazilian singer-songwriter who brings in his voice and guitar strings the sunny rhythm of the tropics, the Latin American syncretism expressed in a deep and balsamic songbook.
